In fact, they may be considered more charming than their full-sized counterparts as they stay tiny and compact with relatively short flower spikes with an adult size of smaller than 10 inches (25 cm) tall.

1. Phalaenopsis Mini Mark

The Mini Mark’s bright, charming blooms have white petals speckled with red and a bright orange lip.

It is a fragrant miniature orchid variety that is relatively rare. 

Mini Mark has a mature height of around 8 inches (20 cm). The blooms are 3/4 – 1.5 inches (2 – 4 cm) in width. 

Phalaenopsis Mini Mark is a cross between Micro Nova and Philippinensis and is sometimes also referred to as Maria Theresa.

2. Phalaenopsis Younghome Sunkist

With large, eye-catching pinkish orange blooms, the Phal. Younghome Sunkist truly lives up to its namesake. It is a hybrid between Phal. Lih Jianq Girl and Phal. Kuntrati Rarashati.

Its exotic petals have a thin, pale orange border. Its darker pink lip has a touch of orange

The blooms are about 1.5 inches (4 cm) wide and the plant’s adult height is about 8 inches (20 cm). 

3. Phalaenopsis violacea 

As its name suggests, the Phal. Violacea is a rich purple to magenta color with pointed petals. The color is faded white or cream at the edges with the color growing darker and richer near the bloom’s center. The lip is purple with a tiny bit of orange

Phal. violacea isn’t a hybrid and is often used as a parent plant to add fragrance to certain hybrids. The species is native to the northwest Sumatra, the Nicobar Islands, and the Andaman Islands. 

The small blooms grow to a maximum width of about 1.4 inches (3.5 cm).

4. Phalaenopsis Yaphon Perfume “Yellow” 

With a word like “Perfume” in its name, it’s no wonder that this mini orchid is highly fragrant. Its strong smell is very similar to jasmine, making it a welcome addition to any home. 

Phal. Yaphon Perfume has bright yellow blooms with faint pink spots. The orchid’s center and lip are white, giving it an interesting contrast.

Mature plants grow to a height of between 6 – 9 inches (15 – 23 cm) and each bright bloom is about 1.5 inches (4 cm) wide. 

This variety is a cross between Phal. Tying Shin Cupid and Phal. Tzu Chiang Balm. 

5. Phalaenopsis Yaphon Evergreen

This rare, green-tinted mini orchid variety is a cross between Chang Maw Evergreen and Ho’s Kuangfeng Glory.

It has plain, waxy greenish petals and a white and orange lip. They bloom frequently and are quite fragrant

Adult plants have a leaf span of between 5 – 6 inches (13 -15 cm) and blooms 1 – 2 inches (2.5 – 5 cm) wide.

They bloom throughout the year save for the winter. 

6. Phalaenopis Dark Cherry

This mini orchid is a cross between the Taida Little Pretty and Zuma’s Pixie.

The petals are deep reddish pink in color and have a white border that resembles lace and provides a striking contrast between the deep velvety pink that lends this variety its common name. The lip is white with pink speckles

Phal. Dark Cherry isn’t fragrant, but its vibrant appearance makes up for its lack of fragrance. The white border of each petal gives the bright blooms a delicate touch. 

An interesting fact about this variety is that the petals vary from purple to pink, depending on the temperature. 

Phal. Dark Cherry has a mature height of about 8 inches (20 cm), and each blossom measures between 1 – 3 inches (2.5 – 8 cm) across.

7. Phalaenopsis Yuan Shan “Sweet Girl” 

The sweet-smelling Phal. Yuan Shan “Sweet Girl” is a cross between Little Gem Stripes and Tzu Chiang Prince.

Their delicate white and yellow contrasting blooms are an eye-catching addition to any home, with the inside of the petal white with prominent yellow borders and a yellow lip

The blooms are larger than many other mini orchid varieties, growing between 2 – 3 inches (5 – 7.5 cm) wide, with a leaf span of 5 – 6 inches (13 – 15 cm).

It is very fragrant with a distinctive sweet smell

8. Phalaenopsis Chang Maw Jade 

A cross between Yungho Gelb Canary and Yungho Gelblitz, the fragrant Phal. Chang Maw Jade has large, creamy yellow blooms with rounded petals and a yellow lip. There is sometimes a faint greenish tinge to the blooms.

It thrives during the winter and spring in more shaded environments. 

Blooms are about 2 – 3 inches (5 – 7.5 cm) in width and the leaf span of a mature plant are about 6 inches (15 cm) in length.

9. Phalaenopsis Bellina

With dramatic colors and rich, fragrant clusters of blooms, the Phal. Bellina is certainly distinctive.

The flowers are yellow and bright pink with pointed petals and a rich pink lip. The petals are pale greenish yellow close to the edge and fade to deep purple at the flower’s center. 

Also known as the Moth Orchid, Phal. Bellina is unlike many other mini orchid species in that it isn’t a hybrid phalaenopsis and is native to Borneo.

10. Phalaenopsis Sogo Vieker

With vibrant red and yellow blooms, the Sogo Vieker is a cross between Phal. Sogo Vivien and Phal. Sogo Peoker.

The rounded petals are bright, creamy yellow with red speckles and a magenta or red lip.

It only blooms during the summer. 

The blooms are smaller than many mini orchid varieties, only about 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide. They grow to a height of about 9 inches (23 cm). 

11. Phalaenopsis I-Hsin Venus “Dotlyn Levy”

This dramatic hybrid is a cross between Dragon’s Gold and Phal. I-Hsin Viola Tris.

The blooms are bright yellow with purplish pink centers, with subtle stripes that make this variety particularly eye catching. Its lip is multiple colors – white, yellow, purple, and rust red. 

The fragrance is sweet and a little tart, very similar to lemonade, which matches its delightful color.

The blooms are 2.5 inches (6 cm) wide and adult plants grow to between 8 – 12 inches (20 – 30 cm) tall. 

Phal. I-Hsin Venus “Dotlyn Levy” blooms all year except for the winter.

They thrive in low light and are perfect for growers without much direct sunlight at home. 

12. Phalaenopsis Sogo Vivien

Also called “Coffee,” Phal. Sogo Vivien is a cross between Sogo Alice and Zuma’s Pixie.

Phal. Sogo Vivien is a rare orchid with stunning coloration and patterns. It has rich pink and white or purple and white variegated petals.

The leaves are also variegated, with green and gold stripes. Bright light encourages variegation

Adult plants have a leaf span of 5 – 6 inches (13 – 15 cm) and blooms that are about 1.5 inches (4 cm) in width.

13. Phalaenopsis Jia Ho Summer Love

These striking blooms have an unusual coloration, white and magenta with purple spots and horizontal bands of color across the blooms.

Phal. Jia Ho Summer Love, also known as “Sweetheart,” is a cross between Taisuco Micky and Bellina. 

This variety is very fragrant and grows during the fall, winter, and spring.

The blooms are between 1 – 2 inches (2.5-5 cm) wide and the plant’s leaf span is 7 – 8 inches (18-20 cm), making it one of the larger varieties on our list. 

14. Phalaenopsis Jiaho’s Pink Girl

With soft, delicate pink blooms, this dainty flower lives up to its namesake.

Phal. Jiaho’s Pink Girl is a cross between Schilleriana and Zuma’s Pixie.

The tiny flowers grow no wider than 1 inch (2.5 cm) and have a color similar to that of bubble gum

This plant is truly a miniature orchid, growing to an adult height of no taller than 6 – 7 inches (15 – 18 cm). 

15. Phalaenopsis Jiaho’s Pink Girl “No. 1” 

This variety is the same as Phal. Jiaho’s Pink Girl, just with fragrance.

Blooms are miniature, growing no wider than 1 inch (2.5 cm), and the plant has an adult height of between 6 – 7 inches (15 – 18 cm).

They are perfect for windowsills without direct sun.

16. Phalaenopsis Mituo Diamond ‘Red Beads’

Phal. Mituo Diamond, also known as “Red Beads,” is named for its deep burgundy overlapping spots on rounded white petals.

This Phalaenopsis variety is a hybrid between Phal. Diamond Beauty and Phal. Ld’s Bear King. 

The blooms are about 2 inches (5 cm) wide, and the adult plant has a leaf span of 8 inches (20 cm).
